FAQ

How many subscriptions do I need?

The Proxmox subscription is per physical CPU socket occupied on the motherboard and actually in use.

Sockets, not cores: It doesn't matter if your CPU has 4 cores or 64 cores; it still only counts as one socket.
Occupied slots: You only pay for the sockets that have a physical CPU plugged into them. An empty slot on the motherboard does not require a subscription.
Per server (node): Each server in your cluster needs its own subscription based on its specific socket count. All nodes within a cluster must be subscribed at the same level to ensure repository consistency and support eligibility

What is the Enterprise Repository?

The Proxmox Enterprise Repository is the default, stable, and recommended package repository for the Proxmox solutions. With this repository you can update all important security fixes as soon as they arise. As all packages in this special repository are heavily tested and thus stable, we highly recommend using the Enterprise Repository for any production environment.

The Enterprise Repository is available to all users with an active subscription.

Will I receive an invoice?

Yes, if you have ordered your subscription in the Proxmox Online Shop, you will receive an invoice via email. See more details in the FAQ in the shop: Payment methods - How can I buy?

Will I receive a renewal?

Yes, if you have purchased your subscription via the Proxmox Online Shop at https://shop.proxmox.com, you will receive a renewal notice 30 days before your subscription period ends. The renewal invoice and detailed information on how to renew your subscription will be included.

How can I purchase a Proxmox Offline Mirror key?

The Proxmox Offline Mirror tool can be used to manage subscription keys for air-gapped systems or
systems that cannot access the public internet. To use this functionality, you need a subscription key for
Proxmox Offline Mirror itself.
