Proxmox VE 4.0 Beta1 verfügbar

Wien – 23. Juni 2015 – Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH, Entwickler der Open-Source Servervirtualisierungslösung Proxmox Virtual Environment (VE), hat die erste Beta-Version von Proxmox VE 4.0 zum Test freigegeben.

Hauptneuerung ist der Proxmox VE HA Manager (pve-ha-manager), ein Ressource-Manager für Hochverfügbarkeits-Cluster. Der vom Proxmox-Team selbst entwickelte pve-ha-manager ersetzt den bisherigen rgmanager. Der HA-Manager überwacht alle virtuellen Maschinen und Container im Cluster und tritt automatisch in Aktion sobald eine der Ressourcen ausfällt. Das neue Watchdog-Fencing vereinfacht zudem die Konfiguration eines Clusters enorm. Das komplette HA-Setup kann via Web-Interface konfiguriert werden.

Die Beta-Version bringt auch einen Proxmox HA Simulator, der es dem User erlaubt alle Funktionen der Proxmox VE HA-Lösung vorab zu lernen und zu testen.

Proxmox VE 4.0 wird nativen Support für Linux Containers (LXC) unterstützen. LXC wird komplett in das bestehende Proxmox VE-Framework integriert und erlaubt auch die Nutzung der bereits vorhandenen Storage-Plugins. Grosser Vorteil von LXC ist die Integration im aktuellen Linux-Kernel.

In der ersten Beta von Proxmox VE 4.0 sind bereits die verfügbaren stabilen DRBD9-Pakete integriert. DRBD9 ist eine Lösung für hoch performante Workloads, insbesondere wenn hohe IOPS (Input/Output operations Per Second) erforderlich sind.

Mit dem Beta-Release von Proxmox VE 4.0 soll einer breiten Nutzerbasis die Möglichkeit gegeben werden die nächste Hauptversion von Proxmox VE zu testen und zu evaluieren.
