Object-oriented rule system

The object-oriented rule system enables custom rules for your domains. It´s an easy but very flexible way to define filter rules by user, domains, time frame, content type and resulting action.

Every rule has 5 categories

FROM, TO, WHEN, WHAT and ACTION can contain several objects and a direction (in, out and both). For example a virus protection looks like this:

Available types

Options range from simple spam and virus filter setups to sophisticated, highly customized configurations blocking certain types of e-mails and generating notifications. The commercial version offers a lot of powerful additional objects to configure a custom system.

Who is the sender or receiver of the e-mail?

For TO and/or FROM Category

The following objects are available:

Domains
E-mail Address
Regular Expression
IP Address
IP Network
LDAP Group
LDAP User

When is the e-mail received by Proxmox Mail Gateway?

Specify a time-frame, e.g. between 8:00 - 16:00

What is in the e-mail?

Example: Does the e-mail contain spam?

Spam Filter (define several spam filter levels)
Virus Filter
Content Type Filter
Archive Filter
Match Field
Match Filename

Define the final actions

Example: Mark e-mail with "SPAM:" in the subject.

Available final actions (no further processing, use only one of the three)
